Past/Present: Temporal Modes in Artists’ Moving Image Installations, 1995-2005.

This thesis focuses on the significance of an intermedial moment as the centenary of cinema coincides with the impact of digital technologies in the mid 1990s. It argues that the emergence of hybrid techno-aesthetics in selected artists' moving image installations produces new temporal modalities of the moving image.
