Women's Writing, Manuscript Culture and Transnational Travel: The Wilmot Coterie 1798-1840.

My thesis is an archival-based study of women's travel writing, translation practices, and manuscript cultures, which revolves around the literary networks of Anglo-Irish sisters Martha (1775-1873) and Katherine (1773-1824) Wilmot. The Wilmot sisters’ active period spans the course of nearly a century, enabling my thesis to discuss a wide range of Enlightenment, Romantic, and Victorian literary practices engaged in by women.
