27 January 2011: Retrieving the text of David Livingstone's unpublished final diary 1870-73
Dr Debbie Harrison discussed the construction of a critical electronic edition and spectral image database of David Livingstone’s final field diaries, which he wrote under extreme personal and environmental conditions, using improvised paper and ink. (When his ink ran low, he used pigments made from local plants.) The diaries have never been published in their original uncensored format.
