  • In April 2019 I'll be giving a paper entitled 'Pigeon-holes: Dehumanization and Individuality in Kingston, Ont' about prison cells and asylum rooms at the Society of Architectural Historians conference in Providence, Rhode Island, USA.
  • My article 'Single Rooms, Seclusion and the Non-Restraint Movement in British Asylums, 1838-1844', is out in Social History of Medicine, 31:4, 1 November 2018, 754–773. It's an open access publication which you can access free here.
  • In June 2018 I chaired the academic session  'Reform: Architecture as Process, 1870-1920' at the European Architectural History Network conference in Tallinn
  • reviews of my book Freedom and the Cage have come out in  JSAH; Planning Perspectives; Isis: Journal of the History of Science in Society; Central Europe; Buildings and Landscapes; and Bulletin of the History of Medicine
