Current research interests

Laura Jacobus' research interests cover various aspects of Italian visual culture during the period c.1250-1450.

Her current research is towards a history of the Scrovegni Family and their Chapel (the Arena Chapel in Padua) from the medieval to early modern periods. This touches upon many different areas, including confraternal culture, gender, patronage, portraiture, early drama, the use of public space, and considerations of the oeuvres of a number of artists.
