Centre for Film and Visual Media

The award-winning state-of-the-art Centre for Research in Film and Visual Media opened in 2007 at 43 Gordon Square. The Centre was specially designed to be used for teaching, research and conferences, and is equipped with a 70-seat cinema.

It is now the home of our film department, housing projects that follow on from the AHRC Centre which Birkbeck co-ordinated in 2000–2005, and offering exceptional screening and reference facilities.
