OH HONEY, WHAT EVER DO I WEAR????
Well the simple answer is don't wear anything that you want kept for best. Old clothes is best, if not cheap joggers or combat trousers. Some site managers don't mind shorts if the weather is hot others are not so keen - best to check first. Top half - well T shirts, and vests if the weather is nice. A fleece is always a good idea, invaluable if the weather is not great. Some people like to use gloves as well, it is not compulsory, but whatever suits you.
IMPORTANT: Try to have your 20 days practical digging experience completed before the end of the summer of your 3rd year. This is because you need to submit evidence of practice in the April of your 4th year.
