MA Historical Research

'I completed my first degree in history of art in Japan and at Birkbeck I specialised in modern Japanese history. Gaining my MA has set me on the way to fulfilling my dream of establishing a career in the arts.

'Fortunately, in London, there are lots of international students to compare notes with, so coming to a new city wasn't as daunting as it might have been. London has a great social scene and Birkbeck's location is great.

'The Institute of Historical Research at Senate House and the British Library are very close by, and I benefited from studying at a great university.' After graduation, I completed a postgraduate course at the British Museum before returning to Japan.'
