MSc Organizational Behaviour

Sarah Ball, an HR and Development Manager, found a number of benefits came from studying her MSc degree.

'Doing the MSc Organizational Behaviour at Birkbeck has allowed my career to develop in a new direction. As well as being a factor in helping me get my latest job, the course has introduced me to lots of new concepts and ideas, and I have gained a new respect from my colleagues.

'I got to the stage where I had been in my former job for a few years, and was considering further study. I knew people who had done this MSc at Birkbeck, and they said it was an intellectually rigorous course that really stretches you.

'What is attractive about Birkbeck is that it gives you a much broader intellectual framework than just picking from solutions that other people have already set down. You develop the capacity to tackle the issues critically.

'Being able to attend college part-time in the evenings was important, because I knew I couldn't afford to take a year off work. Doing the face-to-face option with evening classes really suited my style of learning. I enjoyed meeting up twice a week for seminars and never felt isolated. I've met many fascinating people on the course; all successful professionals in their own right. It's very interesting to hear their thoughts about their own organisations. Studying for my Master's alongside them at Birkbeck has been a privilege – I hope I have made some long-term friends.'
