Coming back to study hasn't always been easy for Peter, but he has enjoyed the challenge.
'I had not been a student for 15 years, so the first few weeks of the course were very challenging for me – just going back into a classroom is very daunting! However, the lecturing was so good and the lecturers put us at our ease straight away. The standard of teaching is excellent, and the support I’ve received from Birkbeck has been outstanding.'Peter has now gone on to study for a degree in mathematics and statistics at Birkbeck. 'Birkbeck has a really good reputation, and this was another reason I really wanted to study here. I enjoyed meeting new people on the course and that was a bonus. There was a real mixture of backgrounds, nationalities and ages and that was really important for me.'
