Birkbeck Scholars' Evening
In recognition of the vital support Birkbeck’s alumni have provided in the past year, the Master welcomed donors to the third annual Scholars’ Evening on 29 June 2010. The London offices of Clifford Chance LLP provided a venue for the event and gave guests impressive views of the London skyline.
The event enabled current students and bursary recipients to thank donors for their generosity and discuss the changes that have taken place at Birkbeck. Many of the bursary recipients in attendance had just completed their final year of study and were able to talk about their plans for the future.
During the evening speeches were made by the Master, Professor David Latchman, and Dr Pat Oakley, an alumnus and donor. Bursary recipient Esther Poyer also thanked Birkbeck’s alumni and spoke about the opportunities that will be available to her following her studies.
