Birkbeck legacy dinner

Birkbeck held its second annual legacy information event on 10 November 2009.

This time it was held in the form of a dinner for those alumni interested in finding out more about how to leave legacy to Birkbeck in their will and those who had already committed to do so.

The Master spoke about the importance of unrestricted legacy gifts which can be vital to the College and also the gifts which are directed towards student support and bursaries, ensuring the financial security of future generations of Birkbeck students.

After dinner a question and answer session was initiated by the representatives of Lester Aldridge LLP solicitors, who answered the guest’s questions and encouraged a discussion about international wills and the tax implications of having wills in more than one country.

The evening was highly successful with a number of guests confirming their intentions to remember Birkbeck in their wills and with one very generous donor making a significant lifetime gift on the night too!
